Kuwahara Real-time Paint Filter in Blender 4.0

Blender 4.0 is in heavy development, with only a few short months separating us from its release. A lot of massive new features have already made it in, including this one: Blender's real-time compositor just got a great implementation of the Kuwahara Classic and Anisotropic filters, which are very well known for their "painterly" effect capabilities.

This latest addition comes courtesy of developers Habib Gahbiche, and will be available to both traditional and viewport compositors. I did a quick test on a couple of Blender's splashcreens, and the results are eye-watering:
