7

Gottfried Hofmann writes:

The Cycles Encyclopedia, the most comprehensive guide to the Cycles render engine in Blender, has been updated. As promised the update is free for everyone who has already purchased the eBook.

  • New and expanded content for the 2.8x/9x series - the book now spans 339 pages (A4)
  • All new typesetting
  • Almost all comparison sheets and demo images have been re-rendered and almost all screenshots have been updated.

The Cycles Encyclopedia is a manual for the Cycles render engine that explains every node and property in detail. In addition it shows how Cycles works under the hood which allows you to use that knowledge to create better and faster renders.

    • Hello, unfortunately we currently cannot guarantee that there will be a paperback version because
      a) we want to keep updating it on a regular basis
      b) we have noticed that most publishing houses seem to dislike releasing books that are already on the market as an eBook

The book is in A4 format so you can print it yourself (and this is something people actually do).

    Thanks for reply.

The trouble, however. is: I don't have a Blender.org ID, so it is unlikely that I bought it there. It does not show in my list of downloads in Blendermarket either. I have it on my desktop but I don't know where I bought it. Any ideas how to proceed?

    • I also bought it years ago directly through the BlenderDiplom site, and had to search through my email for the link to download.

Thank you very much for the tip. Turns out I had lost the original e-mail but the very helpful gentlemen of BlenderDiplom found the records of my purchase and so I got the download link. Henceforth I will keep the link in a safe place.
