BlenderBIM Add-on v0.0.231104 released

You can use Blender for Building Information Modeling projects (BIM) with the open source BlenderBIM addon. Dion Moult wrote in to announce the latest update.

The BlenderBIM Add-on v0.0.231104 has been released with 405 new features and fixes. The BlenderBIM Add-on is an add-on for Blender that provides native IFC and OpenBIM authoring for architects, engineers, and construction professionals. The highlights include:

  • Support for Blender 4.0
  • You can now create bend fittings for pipes and ducts
  • Distribution system connectivity can be visualised
  • IfcFM lets you extract facility management data based on COBie 2.4
  • Improved interface and new panels for coordinates, zoning, drawing dimensions, and stakeholders
  • Work in progress new material and style management system
  • Integration with the bSDD for classification systems
  • Default file association on Windows
  • More IfcPatch recipes to overcome Revit bugs and purge data
  • More work on IFC4X3, PyPI distribution, more documentation, and a whole host of bugfixes and other changes.
