Jared Owen revisits his 2018 ISS Animation and I again watched this one, again fascinated with all the details of the project.
It's been five years since I made my International Space Station animation. I've wanted to go more in depth about how it was built and I finally got around to making a follow up animation. This one goes deeper into how the station was built using the Space Shuttle. In the video I go over 4 shuttle missions and how the new pieces were installed to the station.
I've learned a lot since then so this time I was a bit more organized. I have mechanical rigs for the ISS and the shuttle which made things a lot easier. The earth background is an HDRI image which again, made things easier. I was able to use footage from my previous space shuttle animations so that made things easier too. The hardest part of this animation was the Canadarm and Canadarm2 animations. Lots of child of constraints and tweaking bones until I got it to look right. Please enjoy the animation and share your comments - I always appreciate feedback!
